Conversion of Raw Observation Data and Navigation Message Data to RINEX
If your GPS/ GLONASS receiver outputs raw measurements such as pseudorange, (integrated) carrier phase, Doppler, and/ or satellite navigation message data such as satellite ephemeris parameters, satellite clock correction parameters, iono delay parameters, you can calculate (differential) position.
Position calculation software packages often require input of measurement data and navigation message data in RINEX, or the Receiver Independent Exchange Format (http://www.ngs.noaa.gov/CORS/Rinex2.html). RINEX supports six output file types:
High end receivers often output their data directly in the RINEX format, or are offered with software to convert the receiver data to RINEX. Low end receivers such as handheld and OEM receivers usually don't.
Many (geodetic) reference stations (see e.g. http://www.ngs.noaa.gov/CORS/ for the USA, and there are many reference station in other parts of the world) deliver data in the RINEX format. You can download observation data and/ or navigation message data from one or more reference station for differential processing of your receiver data.
Your low end receiver may be supported by TEQC: The Toolkit for GPS/GLONASS Data (http://www.unavco.org/facility/software/teqc/teqc.html). Use this freeware to convert your data to RINEX, and check your data quality.
If TEQC does not support your receiver, or if you have other reasons not to use TEQC, we may be able to help you.
Currently we have converter packages for the following single frequency (L1)
